Accident and Sickness Insurance
Contractor Sickness Cover is an essential policy that aids a professional in the event of the insured person suffering accidental death, or in addition, the event of the insured person being unable to work through any form of disablement (accident or sickness). The policy provides a lump sum payment in the case of accidental death, and monthly payments in the event of not being able to work due to accident or sickness.
The terms of this policy are simple. You can take out this policy if you are a Limited Company, Limited Liability Partnership or Public Limited Company with a registered address within the UK. Insured persons must be 18 years old at the beginning of the policy and less than 65 years old at the end date of the policy.
Contractor Sickness Cover acts as a monthly policy, providing premiums to the policy holder per month, keeping the holder insured as long as the holder continues to pay the monthly premium and adhere to the policy terms and conditions (see below).
*Please note: Failure to keep up to date with payment of your monthly premiums may result in your cover becoming invalid in the event of a claim.*
Your monthly premium will be reviewed at least annually, and from this point it may be decreased, increased, or kept at its original level. Prior to any changes, we will provide at least 30 days written notice.
If unhappy with any change to your monthly premium, you may cancel your policy with effect from the date the change is proposed to be introduced by writing to us.
There are many benefits to the policy:
- Accidental Death: £25,000
- Disability (Accident or Sickness): a variety of limits available from £1,000 to £3,000 p/m with maximum 12 month benefit period and 30 day excess period
It is important to note that any claim arising from a pre-existing condition will not be covered by the Contractor Sickness policy.
