Tax Liability Cover (TLC35)
If you are a freelancer you will need Qdos TLC35 giving total peace of mind. This is our revolutionary insurance product, which is already proving to be a great success with our freelancer clients.
Qdos TLC35 covers not only representation costs, but also additional tax, NIC, interest and penalties arising from a HM Revenue & Customs enquiry. This provides freelancers with a financial umbrella against the ever-increasing risk of enquiry.
TLC35 includes:
1. Qdos representation in the event of a PAYE compliance review
2. Insurance of fees up to £50,000, £75,000 or £100,000 is available (the higher options for additional premium) incurred representing you in defence of:
- An IR35 dispute
- A PAYE/NIC dispute
- A VAT dispute
- A HM Revenue & Customs Aspect Enquiry
- A HM Revenue & Customs Full Enquiry

6. Back dated tax years
The insurance is run on a 'claims made' basis. This means that you renew the policy annually and will be covered if you have the insurance in place when you receive notification of an enquiry. Retrospective tax years are insured.
To apply for Qdos TLC35 insurance you will need to complete an online working practices questionnaire. Upon completion of the questionnaire your application will either be accepted or referred. If referred, Qdos will contact you regarding your application and may request that you submit a copy of your contract(s) for review. You will still be able to pay for the insurance and while you will be covered for representation costs, indemnity for IR35 tax, NIC liabilities, interest and penalties will be subject to satisfactory acceptance.
